| Time Percussion Tony Arco Time Percussion is a group of 10 musicians (instrumentalists and percussion artists), which was set up in 1996 in Milan by Maestro Enrico Intra and Tony Arco, who is also leader of the band. The idea which led to the ensemble's formation, comprehending all kinds of drums, marimba and vibes, was a result of the teaching activities at the Corsi Civici of Jazz of the city of Milan. Time Percussion expresses itself within a predominantly rhythmical context. It reflects the myriad variety of rhythms throughout the world, blending African with Afro-Latin music, along with Jazz and contemporary classic music, exploring the sounds of different cultures. The repertoire is not only musically varied, but also visually entertaining. It includes original compositions, as well as rearrangements of evergreen jazz standards and contemporary music. The program is occasionally enriched by the notes of the sax or flute. Time Percussion has performed with renowned artists suchs as Billy Cobham, Airto Moreira, Irio De Paula, Antonello Salis, Luis Agudo, Flavio Boltro, Enrico Rava, Eric Legnini, Roberto Rossi, Tullio De Piscopo, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Enrico Intra and Franco Ambrosetti. The ensemble recorded the albums "Time Percussion - A Journey Within" and "Live at the Iseo Jazz Festival" with pianist Franco D'Andrea, which was acclaimed by the Italian leading jazz magazine "Musica Jazz" as one of the best albums of the year 2002.
